In 1983, Lily and her son were in a severe car accident. Struck by a distracted driver, Lily’s effort to protect her son left her with a debilitating injury to her arm, shoulder, and back. Doctors told her there was nothing they could do for her chronic pain. She couldn't walk without assistance and was forced to live with constant discomfort.

Determined to find relief, Lily and her husband, Charlie, tried everything. Eventually, they came across therapeutic magnets from Germany. Charlie taped the magnets to Lily’s pain points, and within 72 hours, Lily was walking on her own for the first time since the accident.

Amazed by the results, Charlie researched these therapeutic magnets further, finding they were already used worldwide to alleviate pain. After acquiring more magnets, he began testing them with friends and family. The change in Lily’s life was so profound that Charlie and Lily founded Medical Magnetics, Inc. in 1991.

Fast forward to 2020. When their granddaughter began experiencing severe menstrual cramps, Lily and Charlie sent her magnets to try on various areas of her body. They worked, but there was room for improvement. After testing a new model of magnet, the results were even better. They began distributing these magnets to many women and conducted a double-blind study at Nova Southeastern University.

Inspired by an article about pressure points for seasickness and nausea, Charlie designed a bracelet with magnets positioned inside the left wrist. His granddaughter’s feedback on this prototype was overwhelming: “WOW! This bracelet works better than pain pills.”

And thus, the Florella bracelet was born!
