How It Works

A close up of Florella's concentric alternating pole technology that helps reduce the pain associated with menstrual cramps.

The Florella has three concentric high-powered magnets that have alternating poles, that is, there is a North-facing magnet in between two South-facing magnets

The magnets, when worn on the inside of the left wrist, interact with the median nerve and the PC6 junction, (see Magnet Science - Studies for more details).

Shows the median nerve on the inside of the left wrist where the Florella works to reduce menstrual pain and cramping.

It is known that applying pressure at various body points can alleviate symptoms related to nausea and menstrual pain.  One such pressure point, PC6, is located about 1 inch down from the uppermost crease of your wrist.  Firm pressure on PC6 can help relieve wrist pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, chest pain, and nausea/vomiting, per Kaiser Permanente (see article pictures).  Other studies suggest that acupuncture at PC6 may have a sedative effect in antiemetic treatment (nausea treatment), as in Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging  (see the Magnet Science - Studies page).

We illicit a similar response using magnets.  Unlike regular magnets the alternating poles create six magnetic flux changes that are seen by the body as shown in the cross-sectional view of our magnets and the median nerve.  The strength of these magnets and the way that they present multiple sudden shifts in magnetic polarity work with the body to reduce pain sensations.
